Heart Wreath

It's snowing here today.  That means I'll have to stay inside and play!  I might venture out to take some photos later.  Everything looks so fresh with new snow on it.

I made a heart wreath using a very subtle paisley print fabric.  I made flowers out of burlap (which were tricky but I love how they look), muslin and cotton.  I'm very happy with how it came out.  I just need to put a hanger on the back and it's done.
This photo doesn't do it justice - but you get the idea
Close up of the flowers at the top of the wreath
I had to use the coffee cup to prop it up - don't those flowers look so nice

And finally, this is what I saw out of my window.  What do you see?
I see a boy leading some camels!
Thanks for stopping by!

OK....the snow has created a scene so opposite to the temperature! I can see the boy leading the camels - cool!!!!! How ironic that snow would create a sand scene!
Your heart wreath is just lovely....really it is! You've done a superb job, it's gorgeous! Not a bad day of play from what I can see!

What a delightful wreath...I especially love those flowers. You made them I am assuming? And snow?? We don't have any...a part of me misses a good snow storm but the other part says...keep the warm weather here!!

Ooops, still having problems commenting here - the only way I can do it on some blogs is to click on 'reply' :((

I adore this wreath honey - and those flowers are gorgeous! I suspect you did make them yourself - so clever! And, I can see the boy and the camels outside your window too :)

Yes, to answer your question, a 'one layer card' is just that. Stright onto the card with little or no embellishments. Really hard for me as I never know when to stop adding bits and bobs! The problem is that alcohol inks, such as Pro Markers, do bleed through the card stock and therefore show on the inside a bit as splodges. My card ended up with some red showing through of course. My way round this, and to be able to use the card, is to cut another piece of white card the same size as the front (I cheat and slice another card the same size down its spine which makes for no measuring!!). Then, just stick the plain card to the inside of the front of the card. Other friends sometimes use patterned paper of card which can look really good if it picks up what the theme is on the front. Hope this makes sense?

The snow... I definitely saw a person there too but the other figures reminded me of the ATT-ATT Walkers from Star Wars. I swear, I'm not even a geek (just married to one).

Love the wreath-it is gorgeous. I'm glad you did the close up shot so we could see the pattern in the fabric better. The burlap flowers are to die for! Worth the effort!

Thanks for all the kind words about my wreath (somehow I can't even add a comment to my own blog.....).

Yes, I made all the flowers. I love how the burlap ones turned out but they were hard on the hands. The little buds are tricky but I think I have the hang of it now. You should have seen my hands, working with the glue gun..... hee hee

Hi Kay,
Thanks for popping over to my blog and leaving such nice comments!
I love your wreath and especially those lovely flowers. They almost look real! The snow quiz is fun, I thought the looked like snow fish swimming along the ledge!
I'm so glad to hear you've signed up for Christy's class she's teaching with Junelle. I will look forward to getting to know you better in that class! Im looking forward to it.

Could you, by any chance, make a tutorial for the flowers? It would be awesome cuz I never got the hang of making them n I always screw up! lol

The children want snow, but I am happy for it to stay away now the holidays are over. In the picture I see the Dark Crystal with huge Skeksis or Mystics following a little Gelfling, no? just me then!

Pretty wreath, by the way.

Lots going on... I once thought I'd do that sort of organizing of papers too but by nature I'm very indecisive so it would probably take years to categorize them! I remain an absentminded professor-type, constantly hunting for stuff. Lol. The wreath is gorgeous. Yes those flowers are very pretty! *smile*
